HOW TO CHELATE YOUR HAIR WITH DAWN SOAP & LEMONS

Cheee… WHAT?!! Never heard of this? Me either, until I tried it and was like, Oh Wow… why have I not been doing this sooner?

Well when you wash your hair with Dawn Liquid Dish Soap, squeeze lemon juice on it, and then follow up with a deep conditioner, this process is called, chelating.

Basically, you are deep cleansing the hair to remove build-up from shampoo, conditioners, products, and oils. It’s super easy and should be done a couple of times a month, to get rid of all that gunk build-up on your hair.

The Steps To Chelating

1. Wet/rinse hair with warm water
2. Apply 2-3 drops of Dawn to your entire head (I know… Dawn dish soap but hey they use it on animals all the time)
3. Rinse the Dawn out
4. Slice a lemon in half and squeeze both halves on your hair, leave for about a minute. Try to get it evenly onto your hair. (This will feel really terrible… almost like wool).
5. Rinse the lemon out
6. Towel dry your hair
7. Apply a hair mask or deep conditioning treatment
8. Rinse hair with cool water after 5-10 (cool water will lock in the moisture)
9. Let your hair air dry (as long as possible)

Great To Do Before Going To the Salon

Your hair will look really bright and feel super thick. You will also notice how clean your hair really looks and feels.

This is best to do before going to the salon and getting your hair done. Stripping your hair of all the build-up, it will make sure your hair really grabs all the color that you are paying big bucks for!
