Love is in the air… or is that the smell of roses? Instead of smelling the Roses, why not try eating or drinking them in this soothing aromatic Moon Milk.
Moon Milk is a warm drink that is derived from Ayurvedic traditions. Typically made with warm spices like Cinnamon, Cardamom and Turmeric, honey, and warm milk.
There are so many variations and all are great, it’s just really what you are in the mood for.
Rose Petals Paired With Cardamom
Cardamom pairs so well with Rose Petals and Blueberries, in this Almond Milk Moon Milk dairy-free variation. Moon Milks are traditionally drank warm, but I love this drink cold, it’s nice and refreshing, and it’s also kind of filling too.
Rose Petals
Rose petals contain polyphenols, and antioxidants that work to protect your body from cell damage. The polyphenols in roses have been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and cognitive diseases.
Make sure you get edible rose petals… don’t just use your leftover petals from the roses you got from your sweetie. Those are generally sprayed with pesticides.
Cardamom
We don’t use enough Cardamom in our daily diets. Which is a shame because it’s packed with so many great benefits. Cardamom has been shown to help with heart, liver, and oral health, along with helping with digestive issues and prevention of ulcers. It is also antimicrobial, killing off the growth of pathogens and microorganisms.
Cardamom has a strong, sweet, pungent flavor and aroma, with hints of lemon and mint, which is why it pairs so nicely with Blueberries and Rose petals.
