AUTUMN CHICORY LATTE

With fall here and winter approaching this Autumn Latte is great to sip on next to a warm fire. With warm spices that fill up the air, with the aromas of cinnamon and cloves.

Autumn Chicory Latte is made with my favorite Roasted Chicory Root Coffee. If you do drink coffee, this recipe can be substituted with long espresso coffee. But for those of us with an autoimmune disorder, unfortunately, coffee can be inflammatory to our systems. I have found it best, for my body, to find healthier options, which is why I love to use Roasted Chicory Rott Coffee as a substitute.

Love Coffee but not the caffeine… Here’s a great substitute:

Spices Up Your Life

This recipe has four main spices that make this Latte packed with a bunch of antioxidants and some amazing health benefits!

1. Cinnamon is the most requested spice on the market right. We tend to put cinnamon in everything because not only of its great taste but its phenomenal benefits. This spice is great because of its antioxidants that are similar to the ones found in green tea and grapes. And it also helps in lowering blood sugar and improving insulin sensitivities.

2. Cloves are a great source of beta-carotene (vitamin A… you know, the vitamin that helps your vision). Cloves also have anti-inflammatory properties, which helps in reducing the risk of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis.

3. Cardamom is another one of those spices with a huge punch of antioxidants. It helps with fighting bacteria in the mouth, bad breath, cavities, and even gum disease!

4. Star Anise… this one is really cool! Star is known for its distinct flavor and is used in many culinary applications but also has medicinal benefits. One of the main active ingredients in Star Anise is Tamiflu, which is a popular medication for treating influenza! Research has also shown that Star Anise may treat other types of viral infections too! Probably a spice we should all be stocking up on right now!

Drink The Gift Of Health

As we are in the fall season and approaching winter, this drink not only tastes like Christmas but as you can see has so many health benefits too. Plus, it would be like giving your body extra presents it needs! So, the next time you decide to make yourself a nice hot beverage throw some spices in it. Not only will your tastes buds love it but so will your whole body! Enjoy…
