I’VE GOT A LITTLE BIT OF DIVA IN ME NOW

Like most women, I started my period at 12 years old, and not only was it very traumatic, I also had to start off with the OH SO LOVELY… PADS. Ugh, they are the worst! Of course, I then was able to move on to tampons, when I got older.

I thought at the time tampons were the best, but there were always scary stories out there about how they are dangerous for our bodies. And let’s not forget those terrible stories we’ve all heard about those poor women who have had major complications and even lost their lives from them! The things we women do to our bodies, it is unfathomable at times.

Why You Should Toss Your Tampons For Good!

We all know that tampons are associated with toxic shock syndrome. Which if you leave your tampon in too long, this could make you very sick and be even life-threatening! With all of the things on our minds these days, it’s really easy to forget about that tampon you put in earlier.

Some of the reasons tampons are so bad, are they cause vaginal dryness and absorb a lot of our natural moisture. Unfortunately, this creates an imbalance of our pH levels in our vaginas!

And if that’s not bad enough, tampons leave behind fibers in our vaginal walls. And let’s not forget the fragrances and bleach they add to tampons, which are all being soaked up into one of the most tender and sensitive parts of our body! Again, insane when you start looking at the “benefits” of using tampons.

Doing Your Part For The Environment

Did you know the average woman tosses in the trash about 275-350 lbs of pads, tampons, and applicators? That’s literally tons of waste that goes directly into our landfills! If you are at all environmentally conscious, this might be a tiny bit of a concern for you. Plus, that’s just a crazy amount to be throwing away per woman! So right there, you know there’s got to be a better alternative.

Making The Swap To The DivaCup

About a year ago I began to have complications with my cycle due to Breast Implant Illness and I decided I wanted to try a healthier option. I hated buying tampons (for the reasons I laid out above) and I wanted something that wouldn’t be putting more toxicity into my body.

So, I went to Walmart and for about $30 bought a DivaCup and I am totally kicking myself for not buying one sooner! Live and Learn. Trust me when I say, these are the most comfortable feminine hygiene products I have ever tried.

Best Bang For Your Buck

The reusable silicone menstrual cup is made of 100% medical-grade silicone with no added chemicals, plastic, or dyes. You can use it up to a year before it’s time to get a new one. You can do the math on how much money you are saving! It saves you so much, that it really is worth it to replace your tampons for a Diva Cup.

You also end up spending less time worrying about leaking cause it seals in tight and can be worn up to 12 hours (depending on your flow). If you happen to have a heavier flow just discard what’s already in the cup and reinsert. Pretty simple.

Personally, I get up in the morning take it out, dump it, wash it, reinsert it and then do the same thing before bed. I literally don’t have to think about changing it or it leaking. It’s amazing!

Try it and see for yourself… and then you will be singing the same song I am!
