WHAT MY PLASTIC SURGEON TOLD ME ABOUT GETTING MY BREAST IMPLANTS REMOVED

Getting your breast implants removed is a lot more expensive than getting them put in. Isn’t that crazy?! Some surgeons even charge double the price of what you originally paid. This is because the surgery can be pretty invasive.

I have been in the process of getting my implants removed through my health insurance company. So far, it’s very difficult to go through your insurance (I’ll get into that more later), but it’s not impossible.

My First Appointment For An Explant

When I went to my first appointment to talk to the surgeon about an explanation, I didn’t really know what to expect. I had to go with one of the surgeons on my insurance plan and I’m limited to only four… ugh!

When I called I talked to the office manager and I told her my situation, she told me insurance didn’t cover explants, which wasn’t true. Soooo, that was a struggle right off the bat.

The Surgeon

If the office manager wasn’t bad enough, the actual doctor was even worse! Where to begin…

I knew going into the appointment not to talk about having Breast Implant Illness and I didn’t even bring it up. It was a good thing I didn’t because this surgeon didn’t believe in BII. Which this might be something that you may have struggled with as well, trying to get yours removed through your insurance.

The doctor told me, my breasts were perfectly done. She said they were asymmetrical and one of the best jobs she had ever seen. More importantly, she told me if I had them removed I would not like the way my body looked anymore and would want them to be put back in!

The Doctor’s Diagnoses

She began telling me that I needed to get professional help with the emotional trauma I was going through. I believe was probably because told her I needed my implants removed due to physical limitations and pain, which she believed was all in my head. And if that wasn’t bad enough… she then gave me documents to sign acknowledging the limitations of having my implants removed. As if I didn’t have enough limitations with what my body is going through NOW! One bullet point states… LOSS OF INTEREST IN SEXUAL RELATIONS BY YOUR SEXUAL PARTNER!

Loving Ourselves First

Oh, where to begin… How insulting on every level!? Is that what we as women have become defined by, OUR BREASTS? Well, should I say, the size of our breasts? We are poisoning our bodies from our silicone and saline implants, but as long as our partners find us sexy, right?! Every day we are being brainwashed into believing this!

Breast implants are the fasting growing and most common surgery done around the world and it shouldn’t be! Don’t get me wrong… I am all for plastic surgery. But, I am not ok with slowly killing myself to look a certain way and neither should you, just so our partners will find us sexually appealing.

The sad thing is, we should be loved by our partners, not by the size of our breasts but by the size of our hearts. And the truth is, most real men don’t care what size your breasts are. We need to believe in ourselves first. Love your body and accept who you are and what you have. And when you do, that’s when you will be the sexiest you’ll ever be!
