LEARNING ABOUT BREAST IMPLANT ILLNESS
About a year and a half ago I was really struggling with my health. I was having a hard to losing weight, actually gaining even though I was eating nothing. I had begun to have headaches, joint pain (to where I couldn’t walk), insomnia, decreased libido, trouble concentrating, struggling to put basic sentences together, mood swings and I was just soooo tired. The list goes on, but we don’t have that much time… haha. So, I made the decision that I needed to go in and see a doctor. I figured maybe it was my hormones that were off or something to that extent.
I booked an appointment with an amazing O.D. and right away she knew what was going on with my body. She had seen it many times and knew from my symptoms that my implants were making me sick. I said to her, “No, it’s not my implants, I have saline ones.”

When I made the choice to get implants, I decided on saline because I had heard so many horror stories about silicone. I knew they had the possibility of leaking and poisoning your body and you wouldn’t know until they had already made you very sick.
Little did I know. Doc told me to go home and do some research… and boy, DID I DO MY RESEARCH.

A couple of years ago, I was bartending in an upscale town in San Diego. You know the type of place where there is no shortage of women with a lot of plastic surgery.
One of my regulars mentioned to me that she had just gotten out of surgery. I asked her for what, she said she had her implants removed, and said to her… Why would you ever do that??!

Doctors will say it’s not your implants… they are FDA approved. And health insurance looks at them as cosmetic and that you chose to have them done, in which they will not pay for you to have them removed.
Even though you keep going in to see doctors, spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, to find out why you just feel absolutely terrible all the time… oh and you are only in your 40s.. or 30s… or even 20s! Way too young to have all these health issues.

So, if it’s all in our heads, then why do women feel better once they remove their breast implants? The National Center for Health Research study said that 89% of women reported an overall improvement in their health issues after they had their breast implants removed. That’s a huge percentage of women reporting that they feel better after explantation! I think that there might be a correlation here… what do you think?
