Why White Rice Flour

White rice has so many benefits to it, it’s easy on digestion and it’s also gluten-free. Most of the time Sweet Potato Fries are tossed in either wheat flour or corn starch. Both can be inflammatory to your GI tract, especially if you have an autoimmune disease. White rice flour will give your baked fries that crunchy texture like they just came out of a deep frier. If white rice scares you, you can substitute it with tapioca starch as well.

Healthy Sweet Potato Fries Recipe

Super Easy Gluten-Free Sweet Potato Fries

Healthy Sweet Potato Fries that go well with any dish or just to eat as a healthy snack

Equipment

  • Oven

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Medium Sweet Potato
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • ½ cup Rice Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°
  • Wash and peel (optional) the sweet potato
  • Cut sweet potato into slices about 1/2 inch wide and 4 inchs long (about the sizes of traditional fries)
  • Drizzle olive oil over the sweet potatoes getting a nice layer on each individual piece
  • Then toss the slices in rice flour, coating each piece thoroughly
  • Line baking sheet with parchment paper
  • Place coated sweet pototoes flat on the baking sheet
  • Sprinkly salt evenly over the fries
  • Bake for 25 minutes and flip over for 5-10 minutes, until golden brown.
